Jungle Fishing for Big Peacock Bass in Colombia

Feb 22nd to March 1st - Akuani Floating Camp

We at FISH PEDASi are spreading our wings! After an exploratory trip last February, we have teamed up with AFLOAT FISHING who have been at the top of their game since 2016, providing the best jungle sport fishing and eco-tourism that Colombia has to offer. They run bucket-list fishing trips deep into the heart of the Colombian jungle, primarily targeting Peacock Bass, but you will also have shots at Arrowana, Payara, Piranha and a number of different Catfish species.

In February of 2025 FISH PEDASi will be running a trip to Afloat's famous 'Akuani Floating Camp', which is the only one of it's kind in Colombia. They offer a magical experience out in the wilderness, including 7 nights and 6 full days of jungle fishing. We will be sleeping in floating cabins right on the waters edge in total comfort with top-class catering also. We will be fishing both the Tomo and Gavilan Rivers which are famous for some of the biggest and most colourful Peacock Bass on the planet!

As with most prolific and remote fishing spots, they are not always easy to get to with this one being no different. After arriving in either Bogota or Medellin (yet to be decided) we spend the night in a hotel and the following morning take an internal flight of around an hour across to the Amazonia region where we then have a 4 hour journey in 4x4 vehicles to reach the camp. The journey is all part of the adventure and I can assure you, it's well worth the effort! The return journey is the same, but in reverse with another night at the hotel in the city before flying home the following day.

This is one of the most amazing environments you could ever wish to fish and explore, it's a total disconnect from normal life and the modern world. It's quite the adventure and all travelling anglers need to experience the thrill of the Peacock Bass at least once in their life!
